Supporting Your Workforce: Caregivers of Adults
The term “caregiver” is often equated with parenthood. But parents and guardians aren’t the only ones who provide care. Whether it’s an aging parent, spouse, adult child, or another adult who needs extended care, caregivers of adults are a growing segment of the population. In fact, 22 percent of adults in the United States said they provided regular care to a family member or friend with a health problem or disability within a 30-day period. And in Lyra Health’s recent survey of over 2,500 employees, 11 percent said they had an “adult dependent in [their] care.”
