As we moved through Q2 inflationary pressure and seasonality were providing a very powerful tail wind to hotel rates. Travel managers have been faced with the growing difficulty of fulfilling projects while accommodation costs have been spiralling. The average price of a weekday stay in the UK has risen by 20% between week 16 - Easter, and week 26. Over the course of the first half of the year market prices rose 52%. In the 3* workforce market Roomex recorded the increase at 21% from January to June - a substantial saving off the broad market average, but still a very significant increase.
